Rhyl 1879 suffered heartbreak after conceding a late goal against Trearddur Bay.
The match, held at Maes Cynlas, was a close affair with just two shots at goal for each side.
The Lilywhites had the majority of possession with 56 per cent but failed to convert this into goals.
The first half saw both teams' goalkeepers comfortably controlling their areas, with few chances to speak of.
Substitute Jonny Bravo was introduced in the 63rd minute, bringing a new dynamic to the Lilywhites' attack and posing different challenges to Trearddur Bay's defence.
However, with just seven minutes remaining, a controversial decision by the referee changed the course of the game.
Bravo was brought down, but the referee deemed it a fair challenge.
Trearddur Bay capitalised on the situation, launching a swift counter-attack that saw Kian Hughes score the winning goal past Adam Reid.
The match ended 1-0 in favour of Trearddur Bay.
After the match, Andy Wilmot said: "A three second spell changed the game.
"With 60/70 minutes played the game had nil nil all over it."
