Calum Proctor has joined the squad at CPD Y Rhyl 1879.

The former Frickley Athletic, Garstang, and Chorley U21 player is set to make an impact at Belle Vue, bringing versatility to the central midfield and defensive positions.

Proctor manages to balance his football career with his role as a shift manager for Lidl.

His decision to join 1879 was motivated by the club's ambition to progress in the Welsh pyramid, an opportunity he found "too exciting to turn down."

Looking ahead to the 2024/25 season, Proctor is eager to contribute to a winning campaign.

He said: "I want to be part of a squad that pushes to win the league and competes in every cup competition."

Away from football, Proctor enjoys cricket, travelling, and bottomless brunches.

He is a Manchester United fan, with butter chicken curry as his favourite meal.

Reflecting on his football journey, he recalls playing alongside Eli Adams at Newcastle Jets as a highlight, while Jordan Courtney Perkins of Sydney FC remains the toughest opponent he’s faced.

Proctor also spent four months on a school exchange in Germany, an experience that broadened his perspective both on and off the pitch.

Proctor said: "I’m really looking forward to the season.

"The welcome I’ve received from everyone at Rhyl has been incredible.

"Let’s make Belle Vue one of the best places to be on a Saturday, as we all push forward together for a successful season."
