PRESTATYN Town are in the process of finalising their squad in the hope of securing promotion to the JD Cymru Premier.
It has been an eventful time at the Seasiders’ following their failure to secure a Tier 1 Domestic Licence from the Football Association of Wales after winning the second-tier title, which resulted in manager Neil Gibson resigning, most of their championship-winning squad moving on, chairman Jamie Welsh taking over and director of football John Lawless also coming and going quickly.
First team manager Ryan Turner has been working hard alongside other staff at the club to completely rejuvenate the squad in recent weeks, which has seen some huge names such as former Bayern Munich youngster Dale Jennings and ex-professional Adam Buxton join the ranks.
A busy period leading up to the January transfer window shutting saw a number of new faces arrive at Bastion Gardens, with the highest-profile being Kevin Cringle, who was once an England youth international captain and began his career at the prestigious Liverpool FC Academy.
His short time in the game has seen the player turn out for Skelmersdale United and AFC Liverpool, with the transfer subject to international clearance.
This further adds to the set-up’s Merseyside flavour after so many local players followed Gibson out of the door, but Sam Duffy, Lee Beattie and are a trio of regionally-based players that Turner wants to build around after securing the role on a permanent basis ahead of the new campaign.
Prestatyn Town FC 2020/21 squad: Kevin Cringle, Daniel Hughes, Ashley Dale, Jacob Williams, Sam Duffy, Jack Atkinson, Lee Beattie, Andrew Booker, Josh Brizell, Adam Buxton, Jack Dixon, Cameron Glennon, Joseph Halligan, Markus Haynes, Dale Jennings, Andy Ruscoe, Jack Hont, Josh Holden, Joe White, Colyfa Kamara, Elliot Owen, Carter Costello.
