CPD Y Rhyl 1879’s managing director Adam Roche has reaffirmed their commitment to securing Belle Vue as the club’s home on a permanent basis.
The NWCFA Tier 4 (East) Premier Division side are still working hard to find the necessary investment need to purchase the storied ground from owner David Butters, with all parties agreeing to a price of £450,000 on the ground after months of negotiations that eventually ended with the former Rhyl FC winding up due to financial issues.
Roche and other hard-working volunteers former the new club incredibly quickly, appointing an experienced manager in Gareth Thomas as they look to make an instant impact in a competitive environment once permitted to do so by the Welsh Government and Football Association of Wales.
A number of “live discussions” have been held with interested parties regarding financial assistance to buy the facility, which is a key component of their five-year plan to get the new set-up to the top of the Welsh pyramid.
Roche, said: “Our club priority remains to find the £450,000 investment to secure Belle Vue for the future of the club, its fans and our local community.
“We have had a number of live discussions however we are open to any additional discussions or enquiries.
“Securing the ground remains key to our five-year plan and the club’s footballing success in providing access to further grant-funded investment opportunities in making the club the true hub of the community and providing local activities seven days a week.”
Thomas’ side have arranged a number of friendly fixtures in the coming weeks as they look to remain sharp in the event the campaign does eventually begin at some stage despite ongoing concerns surrounding the coronavirus pandemic.
They will take on Rhuddlan Town next Saturday before a well-earned rest of the Christmas break, with Llansannan confirmed as their first opponents of the New Year on January 19.
This will be followed by a game against Mochdre Sports on January 16, with Rhyl Dragons also booked in for a friendly date on January 23.
