TWO talented youngsters for Prestatyn Town will go on trial at Tranmere Rovers this summer.
Dan Roberts and Danny Davies, who played a significant role in the Seasiders’ clinching the JD Cymru North title in convincing fashion last season, have been given the chance for full-time football at Tranmere Rovers.
They will spend time at the club during their preseason preparations in the pursuit of winning deal at the Sky Bet League One side, who are set to be relegated after the season was brought to a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Both Roberts and Davies and supremely gifted wide players that have a big future in the game. They came on leaps and bounds under manager Neil Gibson during their title-triumph, and their performances did not go unnoticed by scouts up and down the country.
Gibson himself has links to the Birkenhead-based club, whose chairman Mark Palios recently submitted a proposal that would enable Rovers to stay up.
Whether this will be accepted by the EFL remains to be seen. But this represents a tremendous opportunity for Roberts and Davies, who were two of the standout performers throughout the season.
Roberts is an energetic full-back who can also influence matters at the business end of the pitch, and Davies compliments this extremely well on the other side.
Davies is also a talented cricketer and has represented Prestatyn in the Liverpool and District Competition in recent years once his footballing commitments came to a conclusion.
