A SENSATIONAL bowling display from David Moulson ensured Abergele finished their North Wales Cricket League Division One campaign on a high with a four-wicket triumph at Carmel and District.
The talented all-rounder was at the very top of his game in Gele’s final outing with the ball in his hands, with Moulson claiming the wickets of Ben Sim (5), Ryan Roberts (0), Jack Whitehouse (2), Michael Rapson (0), Nick Hughes (2) and Derek Johnson (0) on his way to sublime figures of 6-9 from a devastating nine-over spell.
Lewis Tolond and Owen Lynam also got in on the act by claiming two victims apiece, with an unbeaten 32 from 90 deliveries from opener Gwion Dafydd enabling the home side to post a disappointing target of 63 all out.
Things looked nervy at one point from the away side’s perspective as top and middle order wickets began to tumble in quick succession, but a knock of 30 from wicketkeeper-opener Gareth Edwards was enough to get them over the line for the loss of six wickets after 20 overs of play.
The last fixture victory gave Gele a final standing of ninth after a very encouraging end to the campaign for the one-time strugglers.
