ABERGELE secured their third win of the North Wales Cricket League Division One season with a 15-run triumph at Ruthin.
The visitors set a target of 174-8 from their allotted 50 overs in the middle, which saw Ed Rooney and Wasim Ali emerging as the joint top scorers from the innings with 31 apiece.
Other scores of note came from skipper Karl Higgins, who made a promising 25 from 44 deliveries, with Lewis Tolond (16), wicketkeeper Ben Garnett (15) and David Williams (14) others to reach the double figure milestone.
Jac Evans was the standout performer from the visiting bowling attacking with four wickets for the loss of 35 runs from an 11-pver spell, with Gwyndaf Hughes helping himself to a pair of victims at the expense of 30.
A superb display from Gele all-rounder David Moulson proved to be the difference between the two sides, with the talented player taking four wickets during crucial stages of the contest on his way to figures of 4-26 from ten overs.
He was ably assisted at the other end by Owen Lynam, who claimed two scalps for 12 runs, and despite Josh Duckworth making a fight of things with a knock of 34 it was not enough as the hosts made 159-9 in reply.
Abergele will look to build on this rare success during their next outing at home to Dolgellau on Saturday.
