CPD Y Rhyl 1879 has appointed Paul Moore as its new men’s first team manager.

Moore replaces Gareth Thomas, who departed as Rhyl’s boss in late October after four years in charge.

Rhyl currently sit fifth in the Ardal North West League.

A club spokesperson said: “With a management history that includes respected clubs such as Congleton Town, Colwyn Bay, Clitheroe, Leek Town, Warrington Town, Newcastle Town, and Hednesford in the NPL West, NPL Premier, and Conference North, Paul has proven his calibre.

“He has also contributed significantly to the Welsh pyramid as assistant manager at Connah’s Quay.

“Adding to his remarkable experience, Paul has held key roles at Manchester City and Macclesfield Town and is also a qualified FA assessor.

“Paul’s appointment follows a rigorous selection process against a high number of credible candidates, and he impressed us all with his confidence, experience, and inspiring vision for the team.

“His extensive network of players and his dedication to success make him the perfect fit to lead us forward.”

Upon his appointment, Moore said: “Throughout my managerial career, I've enjoyed cup successes, promotions, and relegation escapes, each one a unique challenge.

“The management team and I are excited to take on the challenge at Rhyl, a town rich in footballing history and now our new club embracing an exciting journey.

“We’re looking forward to building on the great work of the previous management and, of course, the board. It's an exciting challenge, and we can’t wait to get started.”

“He not only brings impressive credentials and vast experience, but he also came across as incredibly confident and inspiring throughout the selection process.
