EIGHT competitors will contest the Clwyd Bowling League Presidents Day final this Sunday after emerging from a gruelling qualifying round.
Last weekend 66 entrants took to the greens at Rhyl's East Parade Bowling Club from across the league's four divisions.
With a handicap system to level the playing field, they were whittled down over three rounds and six hours of crown green bowls until the final eight emerged.
Rhos Park Bowling Club is the venue for the final on Sunday, September 8. Competing for the title will be Gareth Hughes of Craig y Don, Dave Philip of St Asaph A, Keith Woodcock from Rhos Park B, Garth Evans of Sunny Rhyl A, Gary Morton of East Parade B, Philip Holmes from Highbury A and Ivor Davies of Copperfields Ffynnongroew. Only one female player made it to the final - Hazel Griffiths from Dyserth A.
