WHEELCHAIR-based sports club Rhyl Raptors is to partner with Welsh Rugby Union on Sunday (August 25) in delivering a free wheelchair-based activity session.

The collaboration will take place at Rhyl Leisure, Grange Road, from 2-4pm, with light refreshments available at no cost.

This has been arranged alongside Contact Cymru, a charity supporting families with disabled children.

The session will see children and their families participate in wheelchair rugby and basketball games, as well as other skills sessions.

The event is open to families with disabled children both with and without a diagnosis, and is tailored to all abilities and for children with additional learning needs.

Rhyl Raptors is a volunteer-run wheelchair sports club which provides people with disabilities, as well as able-bodied people, with the opportunity to compete on a level playing field through sport, in particular wheelchair basketball.

It has previously partnered with stakeholders to raise funds to run the club and continue providing people in North Wales with the chance to come together, compete and have fun.
