A TOTAL of 16 teams from various clubs competed in this season’s popular Annual Seniors Mixed Triples Competition staged by Grove Park Bowling Club in Rhyl.
More than eight hours of sporting, competitive bowling were played, on a fine October day on the lush Grove Park green.
The Rhuddlan Bowling Club team of Mike Elgin, Shirley and Les Capper claimed a 21-13 hard-fought victory against Denis Ashcroft, Jenny and Howard Hadwin, their Highbury opponents, in this season’s final.
The losing semi-finalists were last season’s winners Phil Holmes, Bev Taylor & Geraint Roberts, also of Highbury, together with the Trefnant trio of Ken Jones, Gwyneth Williams and Steve Evans, who deservedly emerged as surprise packages.
