A CHANGE has been made to a restaurant's booking policy following a number of 'no shows'.
From June 28, 1891 at Rhyl Pavilion is asking any customers wishing to make a reservation at 1891 to include a valid credit or debit card number as part of their booking.
Those who aren't able to attend are asked to let the restaurant know as soon as possible and there will be no charge.
For customers who do not attend, and do not contact 1891 to cancel their booking in advance, will be charged £10 to help cover costs.
Posting on Facebook, 1891 Rhyl said: "Unfortunately, the number of ‘no shows’ we are experiencing at 1891 is becoming more and more common. Customers booking a table and then not turning up has always been a difficulty faced by the hospitality industry, but it is getting worse since the hospitality sector reopened.
"Restaurant planning, staffing numbers and food preparation / purchase are all determined by the number of reservations in our diary, ‘no shows’ can be a very costly experience for us and other similar venues.
"In addition to the challenges caused by the pandemic, customers failing to turn up for their booking is an added pressure many businesses are struggling to overcome.
"We appreciate there are only a small number of customers who are failing to get in touch, and we hope you will join us to beat this practice, which is fast becoming commonplace across the hospitality industry.
"Thank you for your loyalty and support, we look forward to seeing you at 1891 very soon."
