PRESTATYN Running Club’s prospects for the coming league season look encouraging judging by last week’s Capenhurst 5k race on the Wirral.

The popular, high-quality race produced the club’s best all-round team results than for quite some time, with new, established and returning members all playing a part.

On a fast course seven men, led home by captain Dave Ellis, finished in under 20 minutes and they included the club’s latest recruit George Williams and ex-captain Dean Longley, who has returned to the fold.

Lower down the field, Martin Cortvriend won the M70 class in 22.09, moving him up into the top 30 in the UK rankings.
