KARL Clair’s reign as Prestatyn Town player-manager has got off to a flyer with two wins from as many matches.
After being appointed less than 24 hours on from predecessor Chris Jones’ departure, first team player Clair has guided the club to victories against Colwyn Bay in the Welsh League Cup, and versus Buckley Town in the league.
At home to Colwyn Bay on October 3, Prestatyn Town found themselves two goals down at the break at Bastion Road, but fought back by scoring twice in as many minutes at the start of the second half.
A 4-1 victory on penalties then followed to put Prestatyn Town in to the next round.
Anfield-born Clair’s first JD Cymru North game on October 7 also saw Prestatyn Town come from behind, this time against Buckley Town.
The manager, who played in the game himself, saw his side go 1-0 and 2-1 down, before they fought back to win 4-2 with second half goals from Danny Atkins (brace) and MacAuley Clifton.
Buckley finished the game with nine men after receiving two red cards.
Next up for Prestatyn Town is a visit to St Asaph City on Saturday (October 14, kick-off 2pm).
The Seasiders now sit 11th in the JD Cymru North.
