PRESTATYN Athletic’s under-12s completed a fantastic season by landing a Rhyl and District League and Cup double in a frantic final week of the season.
The team, which also reached the semi-finals of the North Wales Under-13s Cup against teams a year older, bounced back from a league defeat at Denbigh to finish with a flourish and five straight wins.
After league wins against NFA, courtesy of a last minute goal, and Prestatyn Sports, the Latics reached the League Cup Final with a 2-1 come from behind win over league leaders Pentre clinched with an injury-time winner from Dylan Thomas after Josh Parry had equalised from the spot.

They then had to go to Pentre for the final league game of the season, two points behind and knowing only a win would do.
And they did it in style, 3-0 up after 13 minutes and running out 5-1 winners with a hat-trick from Jaxon Owen and strikes from Josh Parry and Dylan Thomas.
They followed that up by beating NFA 4-2 at Denbigh Town’s Central Park ground in the final of the League Cup thanks to goals from Josh Parry, Ollie Michaels, Jaxon Owen and Dylan Thomas.
Their delighted coach Andy Parry, a former goalkeeper with Prestatyn Wanderers, along with assistants Mason Parry and Deej Hobson, won coaching team of the year.
He said: “It’s been a great season and the lads have worked so hard; and the way the pressure was, it was fight or flight, and they handled it amazingly.
“They stuck together. There’s a very close bond in the team and they showed a lot of commitment to the cause in their first competitive season.
“The parents and families have played a massive part too with their support and so has Mark Lawton of main sponsors Harlech Foodservice and my coaches Mason Parry and Deej Hobson and my partner, Claire Latham.”
