PRESTATYN Running Club’s David Ellis had two reasons to be happy with his form at the weekend.

On Saturday (March 25), he ran the Nova parkrun with a friend who was aiming to break 30 minutes, and with David’s help, they managed it in 26.37.

The following morning, David joined a large field for the Liverpool Half-Marathon, coming 599th overall in 1-38.59.

In the Nova run, teenager Oliver Birch-Jones was rewarded for his consistency with his first win, clocking 19.56.

Other placings were: 35 David Ellis, 36 Andrew Scott 26.56, 61 Nicki Triggs 31.37, 61 Ian Cummins 31.40, 95 Roger Harrison-Jones 43.33.

Other Parkrun results were: Greenfield Valley: 10 Ann Claire Jones 24.58, 31 Helen Alefounder 28.57.

Conwy: 51 Martin Gill 24.53.

Telford: 42 Steve Weedman 22.42, 180 Debbie Weedman 29.06.

Swansea Bay: 290 Grahame Shone 28.39.

Orangefield (Belfast): 45 Martin Cortvriend 27.37.

Torvean: 56 Steve Brown 25.55 (pb).

Steve Brown, as the club’s off-road captain, has confirmed his list of races for the 2022-23 Grand Prix, with separate men’s and women’s awards.

Points will be awarded for all Borders Road-Running and North Wales Cross-Country League races, the first fixture in Deestriders’ Off-Road Grand Prix, Conwy or Chester half-marathons, the Fairy Freckled Cow Trail Race, Nick Beer 10k, Deganwy Dash, Orme fell-race, Cilcain fell-race and Caernarfon Race the Train 5k, plus one other race to be chosen by the chairman.

Meanwhile, the club’s annual general meeting will be held on Friday (March 31) at the Ffrith Complex, when members will gave an opportunity to have their say in the running of the club.
