A TOTAL of 15 members of Prestatyn Running Club travelled to Wrexham for their latest effort in support of the “Feel Find Mind” campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer.
The group has visited several parkruns in recent years and this time targeted the Erddig run, which proved tougher than many expected.
Their placings were: 22 Steve Weedman 23.48, 39 Martin Gill 26.28, 42 Sophie Johnson 26.48 (pb), 69 Ann Claie Jones 29.27, 70 Mandy Cartwright 29.27, 71 Mike Davis 29.32, 74 Helen Alefounder 29.41, 91 Debbie Weedman 31.05, 94 Nem James 31.31, 95 Nicki Triggs 31.46, 99 Debbie Jones 32.11, 118 Emma Birchall 34.33, 129 Julie Evans 35.52, 130 Linda Friar 35.56, 158 Suzanne Evans 40.58.

Meanwhile, club captain Lisa Lines extended her series of good performances at the Nova parkrun, finishing sixth overall and first lady in a PB of 21.49.

Elsewhere, 20 youngsters turned out in Sunday’s junior parkrun on the prom, with Tia Calland (RC) finishing second overall in 10.38.
Two of the club’s over-50s joined the large field for the Colwyn Bay Metric Marathon, a 16.3-mile out-and-back course to Towyn.
Craig Smith was 72nd overall in 2-10 and Darren Thompson 141st in 2-25.16.
And less than 24 hours after their Erddig outing and a 10-mile training run on Denbigh Moors, Ann Claire Jones and Helen Alefounder broke new ground by attending an orienteering course in Frodsham.
They organised by Deeside Orienteering Club, and proudly managed to find all 12 checkpoints.
