IT WAS a busy weekend for several members of Prestatyn Running Club, but none more so than the club’s ladies’ captain, Lisa Lines.
On Saturday (November 19), she made the long journey to Monmouth as a member of the North Wales team for the Welsh inter-regional cross-country championships, her first representative honour since she was a junior.
The following day, she joined a huge field for the Conwy half-marathon, clocking a respectable 1-40.10.
Conditions were perfect for the race, which includes a circuit of the Great Orme.
For Ann Claire Jones, who finished in 2-05.31 , it completed the Run Wales Four Castles series, in which she was raising money for St David’s Hospice.

Other club members were in great form over the weekend, Tom Carter finishing third overall and first M40 in the popular 11-mile Penmaenmawr fell-race, one of the oldest fell-races in the region.
One the same day Alex Ryder, who prefers to stick to the roads, won the Greenfield Valley Parkrun in a nippy 18.30.

This Saturday (November 26), the club is hosting the third fixture of the David Alun Williams North Wales Cross-Country League at Upper Park, Whitford.
Last year’s race had to be called off because of Storm Arwen and so it’s hoped that conditions will be good this time.
The course is a tough one, a huge contrast to most others in the league.
Because of the parking arrangements, athletes and helpers are asked to share transport if possible.
