WITH three races down and just one to go, several members of Prestatyn Running Club (PRC) are in line for awards in Deestriders’ Off-Road Grand Prix Series.
There was a smaller field than usual and a smaller contingent from the club for the third race, possibly because of the heatwave, and many of the times were slower.
First PRC member home was the consistent John Simpson, who finished eighth overall and second in the M55 class.
Sophie Johnson and Mandy Cartwright finished first and second in the L40 category, and supervets Gareth Hughes, Mike Davis and Steve Hatfield look set to claim one, two and three in the over-75 group.
Results: 8 John Simpson 27.25 (2nd M55), 10 Dave Ellis 28.27 (2nd M35), 17 George Nison 30.20, 30 Steve Brown 35.50, 34 Ally Reid 36.45 (3rd L45), 25 Sophie Johnson 37.00 (1st L40), 37 Mandy Cartwright 37.30 (2nd L40), 40 Gareth Hughes 38.45 (1st M75), 42 Alan Jones 39.30, 43 Nicki Triggs 39.59, 45 Debbie Jones 40.48, 50 Mike Davis 43.41 (2nd M75), 54 Steve Hatfield 44.43 (3rd M75), 57 Nem James 46.21, 58 Julie Evans 46.57.
