Strictly Come Dancing fans couldn't get enough of the jive routine of Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin, describing it as "impeccable" and "superb" among other things.

Nine couples are currently remaining on the show as it entered its seventh week, with Layton and Nikita's routine opening up the show.

Strictly fans were very impressed with the energetic dance and the judges also seemed to agree.

In total the pair received a score of 36 out of a possible 40, repeating the score they earned during the Halloween week of the show.

Fans really enjoyed the routine from Layton and Nikita with many taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their opinion.

One shared: "Layton & Nikita - Jive timing was superb, impeccable from start to finish, what a start to the show, in fact it’s possibly the best opening dance routine ever."

Another put: "what a hight octane opening with those kicks and flicks! So. Much. Content. Great choice of song too! Precise without being placed. Loved all the acrobatics and balances. Feet did look the tiniest bit sickled. What a partnership!"

One expressed similar sentiments, sharing: "Awesome version of that tune. It drove the Jive along with high energy Terrific dancing, light & bouncy, but I did see the turned in feet. As a performance, totally exceptional. Well done."
