A RUNNER for Abergele Harriers won the Rhyl half-marathon on Saturday (June 18).
James Yarwood took first place with strong competition from across North Wales and the north west of England, finishing in 1:13:52; a new personal best for James.
The half-marathon took place in cool conditions compared to the previous few days and a strong breeze on the return leg from Prestatyn.
With almost 300 runners taking part, John Jones of Abergele Harriers also finished 54th in 1:38:09, and second in the V60 age category.

Abergele Harriers well-represented at half-marathon in Chester
On Wednesday (June 15), Abergele Harriers had their annual club handicap race on Marine Lake, with a meal after at The Mayquay, won by Anthony Howe.
The club had a great meal at The Mayquay and a sports quiz was devised by John Jones while they waited for the results.
Sherwood Pines parkrun: 98th Claudia Smith 29:20.
Greenfield Valley parkrun: 7th Simon Bonfield 23:49; 41st Anthony Howe 36:34.
