ABERGELE Harriers had a great team for the 40th running of the Essar Chester Half-Marathon, a strong field and 4,000 runners.
It was a new course, which many have commented was tough and hilly in sections compared to the old course, but it still retained the start through the ancient city and the long hill finish at the cathedral.
Abergele Harriers had eight runners with James Yarwood again on top form, finishing in the top 25.
All results: 25th James Yarwood 1:14:42 new PB in 10k and Half Marathon and 5th in his age group; 371st Benjamin Lwc Garnett 1:35:39; 441st John Richard Jones 1:37:29, 20th MV60; 465th Warren Brown 1:38:07 PB; 657th Mark Mayers 1:43:48; 870th Sarah Brooks 1:48:30 25th FV45; 1184th Anthony Howe 1:54:12; 1542nd Danny Snelson 1:59:48.

For Abergele Harriers, James Yarwood is having a fantastic season, with so many improvements in every race he takes part in.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, James set on a course to become a better runner, and has certainly achieved that, with the highlight a few weeks ago in Prestatyn, winning the Sanlam Coast Half Marathon, setting at the time a new personal best of 1:15:33.
This was together with further success in April at Cheshire Spring 5 in a strong field of some of the best runners in the north west - James finished in 11th place and time of 26:54.
