A CLOSURE notice has been issued on a property in Rhyl where “cuckooing” is believed to have taken place.
Cuckooing is the name given to the process where County Lines gangs exploit vulnerable people by using their home as a base for dealing drugs.
The closure notice, imposed yesterday (November 28), is in effect for 24 hours.
Yesterday, a North Wales Police spokesperson said: “We placed a 24-hour closure notice on an address in Rhyl which was to safeguard the occupant, who has been subjected to cuckooing.
“This makes it an offence for anyone other than the occupant to enter the property for the specified period.
“Further closure notices can be issued if deemed necessary to ensure further issues do not occur.”
A fine or a prison sentence are possible consequences of being convicted of breaching a closure notice.
