WEEKEND collections of public waste bins have resumed in Rhyl and Prestatyn, following a short break during November.
Earlier this month, the Journal reported that Nathan Whiteside, who runs the One Stop shop on Cefndy Road, Rhyl, expressed his disappointment that the rubbish bin outside his store would no longer be emptied at weekends.
Staff members had been tidying up the rubbish left by the bin on a daily basis, he added.

Domestic waste which is placed in, or next, to the public bins is considered to be fly-tipping, and Denbighshire County Council said these instances will be investigated and appropriate action taken.
Cllr Barry Mellor, the council’s lead member for environment and transport, said: “We’d like to apologise for the short period of time when public bins couldn’t be emptied, but can reassure residents that this has now been resolved.
“Weekend collections of public bins continue to be a focus of Denbighshire’s Streetscene team and they will continue to be regularly cleared going forward.
“We would like to remind residents that the public bins are for disposing of small items of rubbish and we’d encourage people, where possible to take any large amount of waste home with them.
“These bins are not designed for domestic waste.”
