RHYL has been listed as one of the “adultery capitals” in the UK according to new data.

According to figures from the annual Infidelity Index data provided by IllicitEncounters.com, the UK's “leading affairs site”, 5.36 per cent of the town’s population have reportedly had affairs this year - the sixth-highest percentage in Britain.

This is a percentage surpassed only in the UK by Cheltenham (6.98 per cent), Farnham (5.99 per cent), Motherwell (5.63 per cent), Warwick (5.61 per cent), and Braintree (5.55 per cent).

Meanwhile, the “most faithful” towns in the UK in 2024 were recorded as Swindon (0.35 per cent), Bracknell (0.36 per cent), Dewsbury (0.39 per cent), Castlereagh (0.44 per cent), and Rotherham (0.58 per cent).

Last year, Rhyl ranked 39th on the list of UK towns with the most affairs (808 affairs – 3.92 per cent of population).

On its website, the interactive Infidelity Index allows users to search a town, city or postcode to discover how many people are having affairs in any locality.

The cheating map is based on data from one million postcodes.

More than 1.5 million people have registered with IllicitEncounters.com since it started in 2003.
