SOME schools in Denbighshire remain closed today (November 20) as a result of the snowy weather conditions.
As snow continues to fall and turn into ice amid freezing temperatures, schools have remained closed today to ensure the safety of students and staff.
A yellow warning for snow and ice remains in the region from the Met Office until at least 10am this morning.
As a result, Denbighshire County Council has taken the decision to close several schools for the safety of their students and staff.
Here is the latest:
- Ysgol Trefnant, Denbigh
- Ysgol Llanbedr, Ruthin
- Ysgol Henllan, Denbigh (The Breakfast Club is closed today. The school is open for all pupils from 8:45am.)
- Ysgol Pant Pastynog, Denbigh
- Ysgol Dyffryn Iâl, Llandegla
- Ysgol Cefn Meiriadog, Cefn Meiriadog
- Ysgol Bro Famau (The sites at Llanferres and Llanarmon-yn-Iâl are closed)
- Ysgol Caer Drewyn, Corwen (Closed only to pupils in Nursery, Year 5 and Year 6.)
For all of the above, Denbighshire County Council said the schools will contact pupils’ parents with more information.
More information can be found on the council's website.
