BBC radio and television presenter Jason Mohammad was a special guest at a café in Dyserth last week.
Mohammad, who presents BBC Sport’s Final Score and the morning show on BBC Radio Wales, called in to The Red, on Waterfall Road, either side of the 2024 Denbighshire Leisure Ltd Active Communities’ Awards, which he hosted in Rhyl on Wednesday (November 13).
The Red was bought by Jules Peters, wife of The Alarm’s Mike Peters, in 2022, before being rebranded from The Red Lion to The Red/Y Coch.
Deb Maxwell, who works at The Red, served Mohammad, and backed him to replace Gary Lineker on Match of the Day from next season.

“He arrived on Wednesday afternoon, dined here, went off to Rhyl Pavillion, then popped in on Thursday morning for a classic 'Red' breakfast.
“Jason was absolutely brilliant - a true down-to-earth gent, with bags of personality and charisma.
“If he doesn't get the Match of the Day presenting job, then I will see 'red'! He was born for that role and deserves to be a strong contender!”
