A SCHOOL in Rhyl was crowned Denbighshire's primary school of the year at a recent awards ceremony.
Ysgol Christchurch, on Ernest Street, won the 'Primary School of the Year 2024' category at the Denbighshire Leisure Awards.
Staff members, chair of governors and pupils represented the school at the awards, and were left "pleasantly surprised" to claim victory.

The award recognises a Denbighshire school that puts active, sporting opportunities and / or creative arts activities at the heart of the school and community and which recognises the contribution that these activities have in promoting wellbeing.
A spokesperson for the school told The Journal: "We are extremely proud to have received this award and would like to thank Denbighshire Leisure Limited for this recognition and for the wonderful community event."
