A SWING barrier is to be installed at the entrance to one of the McDonald’s fast food restaurants in Rhyl.
McDonald’s applied to Denbighshire County Council’s planning committee for a barrier at its site on Ffordd Derwen, with Sarah Carpenter of Planware Ltd acting as the company’s planning agent.
The restaurant, which also has a drive-thru facility, will have a barrier of up to nine metres in length erected “across the access/egress of the site”.

Planning consent was granted, providing that the development starts within the next five years and that it strictly follows the plans set out in the submitted application.
When asked why it made the application for a swing barrier, McDonald’s said it had no further comment to make.
McDonald’s on Ffordd Derwen is open from 6am to 11pm, seven days a week.
It is one of two McDonald’s restaurants in Rhyl, with the other on the town’s High Street.
