SERVICES took place across Rhyl, Prestatyn and Rhuddlan to honour the nation's fallen heroes on Remembrance Sunday.

Rhyl Garden of Remembrance saw hundreds gather to pay their respects following a Remembrance Service at St Thomas' Church.

Representatives from the Navy, Army and Royal Air Force Cadets, Scouts and Guides and military and emergency service personnel led the parade to the Garden of Remembrance where a large crowd gathered to observe the two-minute silence and lay wreaths and tributes to the fallen.

In Rhuddlan the Rhyl Youth Marching Band led the Remembrance parade from the cenotaph to St Mary's Church guided by Parade Marshall Inspector Tim Wynn-Jones and lead standard bearer Lisa Lee.

There a service of remembrance was conducted by the Reverend Jayne Coxall before the parade returned to the cenotaph. There wreaths were laid by Mayor of Rhuddlan Cllr Val Simmons and Rhuddlan's County Councillor Arwel Roberts.

Wreaths were also laid by military representatives, the Scouts and Guides, North Wales Police and local branches of political parties and community groups wishing to pay their respects.

In Prestatyn the remembrance parade - featuring military and emergency service branches, made its way through town from Ty Nant to the war memorial at Christ Church.

There a service of remembrance took place, allowing the large crowd to reflect on the impact of war and honour those who gave their lives to defend the country.
