THE family of a Rhyl grandmother who was allegedly murdered have thanked all of those who have shown them “love and support” since her death.

Catherine Flynn, 69, of Cefndy Road, died in hospital on October 25, following an incident at her home the previous evening.

Dean Mears, 33, of Bodelwyddan Avenue, Kinmel Bay has been charged with her murder and aggravated burglary, while a 28-year-old Rhyl man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

A GoFundMe page set up by a close friend of Catherine’s daughter, Natasha, to support the family, has also raised more than £2,500.

“The love shown and the most beautiful comments that have and are still warming our hearts are not going unnoticed.

“From family and close friends, to people who just knew her from passing by and other walks of life, and to the complete strangers that have all showed immense support to our family, it really means the world.

“We would also like to thank North Wales Police and all of the other departments involved for their continued investigations and support we are receiving, the family liaison officers, and Victim Support.

“We really feel confident and comforted from you all, and the dedication being shown from DCI Lee Boycott is beyond measure. We thank you all.
