A WOMAN from Rhyl arrested in connection with the death of 69-year-old Catherine Flynn has been “eliminated from enquiries”, police have said.
The woman, 25, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender in relation to the death of Ms Flynn, 69, who died in hospital following an incident on Cefndy Road during the evening of October 24.
Dean Mears, 33, of Bodelwyddan Avenue, Kinmel Bay, has been charged with murdering Ms Flynn, and with aggravated burglary.
Today (November 5), North Wales Police confirmed that the woman, who was released on bail last week, is no longer under investigation.
Another man, aged 28 and from Rhyl, has been given conditional bail after being arrested on October 31 on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.
Police have renewed their appeal for information about the incident.
Detective Chief Inspector Lee Boycott said: "Following extensive enquiries, a 25-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been eliminated from our enquiries, as I am satisfied she had no involvement in this tragic incident.
"I am grateful to all those in the local community who have come forward to assist us so far.
“However, if there is anyone who has not yet spoken to us, I would urge them to contact us, no matter how small their information may be."
Mears, who has been remanded in custody, is due to enter pleas to his charges on February 7, 2025.
Should he plead not guilty, a provisional trial start date of April 29 has been set.
