REMEMBRANCE Sunday takes place this weekend with services honouring fallen servicemen and women throughout Denbighshire.
This year marks the 80th anniversary of D-Day and, 24 hours later, Armistice Day will officially recognise the end of World War Two, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.
Across the county there will be parades and services of remembrance taking place this Sunday at war memorials and cenotaphs in cities, towns and villages where people have already been preparing with thoughtful, decorative poppy displays.
Denbigh
Denbigh has made a few changes to this year's Remembrance Service. There will be a small service of prayer in St Mary's Church from 10am before the parade heads up to the top of the town at 10.30am.
There will be speakers set up near the War Memorial and the lectern will be in front of the library. Denbigh British Legion stewards in hi-visibility jackets will be on hand to show people where they can stand.
These changes have been made to ensure more people can see and hear the service.
Wreath layers will be called out in groups and Gill German MP and Gareth Davies MS will be in attendance along with Denbigh Army Cadets, Myddleton College Cadets and St Brigid's Cadets, one of whom will reading a poem.
Tea and coffee will be available after the service in St Mary's Church.
St Asaph
A Remembrance Service will be held at St Asaph Cathedral on Sunday, November 10 at 9.45am. This will be followed by a procession to the war memorial where individuals and organisations will be invited to lay wreaths.

Rhuddlan
A parade will leave the Cenotaph at Rhuddlan Community Centre at 10.30am on Sunday, processing to St Mary’s Church.
Following the Remembrance Service at 11.50am, the parade will leave St Mary's and return to the Cenotaph via Castle Street, where wreaths will be laid to honour the fallen.
Rhyl
This year's Remembrance Service will take place at St Thomas' Church in Rhyl from 9.30am to 10.30am.
A parade, including representatives from the Navy, Army and Royal Air Force Cadets, Scouts and Guides will then make its way from the church to the Garden of Remembrance for a short service. There they will observe the two-minute silence and lay wreaths.
Prestatyn
The Remembrance Service will begin with a parade from Ty Nant at 10.15am. It will head to Christ Church where the act of remembrance will take place.
On Monday 11th, Armistice Day, people are asked to gather at Christ Church at 10.45am before moving on to Ty Pendre Gardens for a short service and wreath laying.
Meliden
Meliden War Memorial will be the meeting point at 10.45am on Remembrance Sunday. Following an act of remembrance and wreath laying, there will be a short service at St Melyd's Church.
On Armistice Day - Monday, November 11 - There will again be a gathering at 10.45am at Meliden War Memorial. There will be another act of remembrance and a reading of the Roll of Honour.
Llangollen
Retired Major Mike Adams will lead this year's Remembrance Parade in Llangollen. It will muster at Market Street at 10.30am and make its way to Centenary Square, where a military band will play and wreath layers will congregate.
Following the Last Post and two-minute silence, wreaths will be laid by: Llangollen Town Council, Llantysilio Community Council, Ken Skates MS, Becky Gittins MP (representative), Denbighshire County Council, Royal British Legion, Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Royal Air Force Association, Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers. Northern Ireland Veterans, Bosnia Veterans, Afghanistan Veterans, Iraq Veterans, Army Cadets, Air Training Corps, North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, North Wales Police, Ysgol Dinas Bran, Ysgol Y Gwernant, Ysgol Bryn Collen, Llangollen Brownies, Llangollen Scouts, Llangollen Inner Wheel, Llangollen 41 Club, St Collen’s Lodge, Llangollen Railway, Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, Llangollen Museum, Llangollen Operatic & Dramatic Society, Llangollen Women's Institute, Llangollen FC and Llangollen Youth FC.
The service will conclude with a march past at 11.30am. Afterwards there will be a remembrance train from Llangollen Station, leaving at 12.30pm, which veterans and active service personnel can board free of charge.
Llanferres
St Berres Church is where Llanferres' Remembrance Service will begin at 10.15am. Following the service at 11am the commemoration will move to the village war memorial where there will be wreath-laying.
Ruthin
The Service of Remembrance will gather at Ruthin War Memorial on Wynnstay Road at 10:45am. There will be a service and wreath-laying with representatives from the Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force.
Corwen
St Mael and St Sulliens will host this year's Remembrance Service from 10am on Sunday. Afterwards there will be the laying of wreaths in the Memorial Garden at around 10.50am.
Refreshments will be available following the ceremony at the Sports Pavilion.
Llanarmon yn Iâl
St Garmon's Church Remembrance Service will take place at 4pm on Sunday, after which the Community Council will lay a wreath at the War Memorial Monument in the cemetery.
Llandyrnog
The war memorial at St Tyrnog's Church will be the initial meeting place for Llandyrnog's Remembrance service at 10.50am. Afterwards there will be a service and readings inside the church.
Aberwheeler
Members of the public are invited to gather at the Aberwheeler Memorial at 11am to observe a two-minute silence. This will be followed by the community council laying a wreath.
Nantglyn
Nantglyn Community Council will hold its Act of Remembrance at the village War Memorial from 10.45am.
Tremeirchion, Cwm and Waen
Corpus Christi Church in Tremeirchion will host a Service of Remembrance from 10.50am at the War Memorial, before the Eucharist Service takes place inside the church.
