A COFFEE shop in Rhyl raised more than £1,400 for Macmillan Cancer Support by hosting one of the charity’s coffee mornings.
Tim’s Coffee Lounge, on High Street, held the event at its premises on September 27.
It also featured a raffle, and music from Rhyl-based country and western artist, Peter McKeown, while Celebrity Big Brother winner Paddy Doherty was a special guest at the fundraiser.
Owner of Tim’s Coffee Lounge, Tim Roberts, hailed a “really successful coffee morning” at the shop, which has been open for more than six-and-a-half years and which he sees as “a community hub centre in Rhyl where anyone can come in”.
He added: “I think everyone, including myself, has lot a lot of people they love to cancer, so I thought it would be a perfect cause to try and raise funds for.
“We are extremely grateful, and we want to say a very special thank you to everyone who donated, to help such a good cause.”
Tim gave “high praise and a big thank you” to Peter for “providing us and our customers with such a heart-warming performance on the day”.
Peter’s nine-year-old daughter also made special “Scoobie” bracelets and collected £103 to donate from selling them.
Donations from Macmillan’s coffee mornings, held across the UK, help raise funds to support the millions of people in Britain living with cancer.
