RHYL will the celebrate the switching on of the town’s Christmas lights this year on Saturday, November 23.
Organised by Denbighshire Leisure Ltd (DLL), a programme of events has been organised to celebrate the day, starting at 2pm.
The Christmas lights will be switched on at the town’s High Street that afternoon, while there will also be festival songs and games courtesy of DJ, Paul Crawford.
Themed stilt walkers, face painter, balloon modeller, Rhyl Youth Marching Band, and the Mind Ukulele and Singers Group will join in the fun.
Turning on the lights will be cast members of Rhyl’s Christmas pantomime, Cinderella, including Corrie star Beverley Callard, Sugababes sensation Amelle Berrabah, crowd favourite Jamie Leahey, Mamma Mia ‘I have a dream’s’ Owen Johnston, local talent Georgia Conway and Mayor of Rhyl, Councillor Cheryl Williams.

Jamie Groves, managing director of DLL, said: “We're thrilled to partner with Rhyl Town Council to offer a weekend of free entertainment for families in Rhyl!
"We believe that bringing our community together is especially important during the holiday season.
"Join us in celebrating the festive season with the Christmas Light Switch On on Saturday, followed by some entertainment at the theatre with the Christmas Pops Concert on Sunday—a perfect way to kick off the Christmas spirit with your family and friends!”
Mayor of Rhyl, Councillor Cheryl Williams, added: “Tis the season to launch the Christmas Lights display in Rhyl, so come along to see Rhyl Town Centre’s glittering illuminations, a vibrant and shimmering spectacle.
"An afternoon to celebrate the countdown to Christmas and the opportunity to enjoy free high street activities and music with a host of entertainers and stars from this year’s pantomime.
"Rhyl Town Council is proud to provide financial support to Denbighshire Leisure Ltd to host this traditional event to be enjoyed by all that initiates the true spirit of the festive lead-in to Christmas.”
The festivities continue on Sunday with Rhyl’s free Christmas Pops Concert at Rhyl Pavilion Theatre at 5pm, featuring a fantastic line-up.
