Schools across Denbighshire are set to benefit from a resource pack developed by the county council's climate change team.
The initiative aims to support schools wishing to participate in the national campaign, Wales Climate Week, which runs from November 11 to November 15.
Aiming to unite people all over Wales, the event will help to educate residents and explore innovative solutions for tackling and adapting to climate change.
The council will be backing the campaign again this year, and the resource pack has been put together to help schools in the county take part on a local level.
Providing local and national information and resources, the pack aims to increase pupils' understanding of the climate and ecological emergency declared by Denbighshire County Council in 2019, and the ongoing efforts to address it.
It educates pupils about the declared emergency and how they can contribute positively at a local level.
The resource pack focuses on different themes for each day of the Wales Climate Week programme, with corresponding information and activities.
It also includes resources centred around climate and eco-anxiety, supporting teachers in delivering lessons on this topic while considering the mental health of children and young people.
A spokesperson for Denbighshire County Council said: "We know our schools are already heavily invested in tackling climate change issues across the county.
"There is some fantastic work going on by pupils and I have met many who have come out to help us with planting on our community nature space sites we have developed.
"Our climate change team wanted to support the youngsters' passion for helping their local environment and nature by producing this pack which will help their teachers in showing them what we are doing as a council to help their future during a very important campaign week.
"I would encourage schools to have a go with this resource pack by either following the daily themes or just by picking and choosing as many of the topics to learn about as possible.
"We would all love to hear any feedback from the pupils and see the work created by using this resource."
Schools are encouraged to share images and creations by emailing climatechange@denbighshire.gov.uk or tagging @DenbighshireCC on social media using #DenbighshireWalesClimateWeek.
