A PROPERTY in Rhyl could be converted into four holiday lets.
Applicant Mr M Malik has lodged a proposal with Denbighshire County Council’s planning committee for a change of use at 51 Russell Road.
The property has been vacant since April - according to Rightmove, it was sold for £320,000 that month.
Plans of the proposed new holiday lets, designed by Rhos-on-Sea-based EDGE Architects, comprise two ground-floor and two first-floor units.
Of the four units, three would be 48m² in size, while the other (one of the ground floor units) would be 56m².
A unit on each floor would consist of a living area, kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms.
The other unit on each floor would have one bathroom, bedroom, kitchen and living area each, meanwhile.

A “green infrastructure statement” submitted in support of the planning application states that it would have no adverse effect on biodiversity.
Extracts from this statement read: “As the proposal is, in effect, a change of use to an existing property retaining all external features, this does not damage any biodiversity, as the scheme implements only a built structure to a previous hard standing area.
“The scheme therefore has low significance to protected species and habitats and does not offer potential for them.
“All existing trees and hedges within the curtilage will be retained. On this basis, we feel the proposal does not cause any harmful environmental effect.
“This site is not within any statutory designated site, nor has it got any protected species or habitats as it is an existing built structure, with no ecological value.
“The site is restricted, of which the development footprint occupies approximately 50 per cent.
“The remaining area is used for parking and turning as required, serve as small amenity areas and refuse storage.
“Some native planting on-site is proposed, which will be designed to ensure it complements the natural range in the immediate area. This will be additional shrub planting, to be agreed.”
When consulted on the plans, Rhyl Town Council made no objections.
Denbighshire County Council’s planning committee will rule on the application in due course.
