“ROGUE traders” from Leeds travelling in a Black Transit van going by the name of “Dimond Windows” have allegedly been carrying out work in the Denbighshire coastal area.

Residents have been urged to be cautious when agreeing to works by companies that knock on their door, or a company that they have any doubts about, as when work starts, often rogue tradespeople become intimidating and make demands for stage payments.

Extra police patrols have been arranged close to an address in Rhyl where they have carried out work.

A North Wales Police spokesperson said: “We encourage you to take some time to do research on a company who you wish to carry out work on your home and never pay up front.

“Make sure clear boundaries are set from the start and ensure the workers know that you will not part with any money until you are satisfied with the finished job.

“Keep yourself and others safe by continuing to report rogue traders, providing as much information as possible so we can help to put a stop to their criminality.

“You can use Crime Stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, or report it to North Wales Police via email, or online reporting forms.”
