A CONSERVATIVE candidate has been elected to represent the Rhyl Trellewelyn ward on both Denbighshire County Council and Rhyl Town Council.

Will Price won 51 per cent of the county council by-election votes, and 59 per cent of the town council by-election votes, yesterday (September 26).

His election follows the death of Cllr Win Mullen-James (Labour), who died on May 1 having served the Rhyl Trellewelyn ward previously.

The other county councillor on the Rhyl Trellewelyn ward is Cllr Michelle Blakeley-Walker (Labour).

Cllr Mary Roberts (Labour) also represents the Rhyl Trellewelyn ward, along with Cllr Blakeley-Walker, on Rhyl Town Council.

Mike Blackwell (Welsh Labour) – 127 votes

Andrew Morris (Welsh Liberal Democrats) – 19 votes

Will Price (Welsh Conservatives) – 188 votes

Bleddyn Rhys (Plaid Cymru/The Party of Wales) – 36 votes

Turnout - 11.5 per cent
