A construction company has strengthened its environmental credentials.
Wynne Construction, based in Bodelwyddan, has added a hybrid van to its fleet and installed more solar panels.
These actions are part of the company's aim to reach net zero by 2040.
The 16 new photovoltaic (PV) solar panels at its headquarters can produce up to 31kW.
The panels, provided by Welsh solar equipment energy supplier JM Renewables, will charge the hybrid van on-site using clean energy.
The hybrid van will emit less carbon than a diesel van, saving around 4,460kg of CO2 annually.
This is the latest green initiative by the family-owned company, which has previously installed 58 solar panels on its headquarters, uses 100 per cent renewable energy, and introduced off-grid hybrid generators to cut site fuel consumption by 40 per cent.
Richard Wynne, director of Wynne Construction, said: "We have long recognised our responsibility as a business to look after the planet and are constantly aiming to play our part in helping to solve the climate crisis.
"We are especially aware that the construction sector is one of the largest carbon emitters, and we strive to demonstrate best practice through setting the standard for our supply chain and wider partners and peers in the industry to follow."
Mr Wynne, who spoke about the company's carbon reduction efforts at Net Zero North Wales earlier this year, is keen to introduce more initiatives in the future.
He added: "We are eager to see a big growth in vehicle charging points across Wales, which will allow us to increase the number of electric and hybrid vans in our fleet.
"In addition, we are constantly reviewing site operations and best practices to identify new technologies and adaptations we can make to reduce our carbon footprint further.
"We are well known for the quality of our work, and our aim is to build a similar reputation for leading the way on carbon reduction in the construction sector."
Ben Musgrave, director of JM Renewables, said: "Working alongside Wynne Construction to deliver such a meaningful project has been great.
"It’s very encouraging to see a construction company like Wynne make the necessary changes that will propel it towards achieving its environmental targets and ultimately aid Wales in reaching net zero by 2050."
Wynne Construction operates across Wales and north west England, leading projects in sectors such as education, social housing, healthcare, and sport and leisure.
