Costa Coffee has donated £1,000 to a Prestatyn riding club.

The Lloc and District Riding Club, based in Ffordd Ffynnon, received the money as part of Costa Coffee's Community Grant scheme.

The scheme aims to support sports clubs around the country.

The Lloc and District Riding Club, which has been providing a safe and proffesional environment to develop equestrian skills since the 1980s, will use the funds for essential maintenance of equipment and land, as well as purchasing new warm-up jumps for competition days.

Emma Jones, chairperson at the club, said: "We are grateful to receive the Costa Coffee Community Grant, which will be a huge help to our ever-growing club."

She added: "It’s a great boost for our close-knit community of members and volunteer team."

The club, run by volunteers, hosts various events each year, including training days, social events, and yearly awards nights.

The donation is part of Costa Coffee's commitment to supporting the development of future sporting talent.

So far this year, Costa has donated £50,000 to 50 sporting community groups and charities.

The Community Grants programme, launched in 2021 in collaboration with Charities Trust, allows Costa Coffee team members to nominate deserving causes in their region.

This year, the donation amount was increased from £500 to £1,000 to make a greater impact in communities across the country.

Jo Jennings, community co-ordinator at Costa Coffee, said: "We are thrilled to be able to contribute to the incredible work being done in Wales by The Lloc and District Riding Club.

"At Costa Coffee, we recognise the dedication and passion that sports clubs bring to their local areas, and we are proud to be extending a helping hand to sporting groups across the nation through our Community Grants Scheme."

Since the programme's inception, Costa Coffee has contributed more than £180,000 through its Community Grants Scheme.
