A WOMAN from Rhyl who admitted drunk and disorderly behaviour and possession of cocaine in the town has been spared jail.

Hannah Gibbon, 33, of Bodfor Street, was sentenced to eight months’ imprisonment, suspended for a year-and-a-half, at Mold Crown Court today (September 26).

The two-year community order which she was made subject to in March 2023, after being convicted of possession of class A and B drugs and possession with intent to supply cannabis, was also revoked today.

Gibbon’s offending took place on Market Street, Rhyl on August 15, where she was found to be in possession of a wrap of cocaine.

Simon Killeen, representing her, told the court she now has “pleasant accommodation”, and is no longer “sleeping rough”.

Sentencing, Judge Rhys Rowlands also ordered Gibbon to complete 20 days’ rehabilitation activity, and a six-month drug rehabilitation requirement.

He warned her that she is on her “last chance”.

Judge Rowlands told Gibbon: “It’s very much in your interests (to abide by the suspended sentence order). If you carry on drinking, you’re going to end in more and more trouble.

“Everybody’s hoping that you’re going to be able to stop drinking. If you stop drinking, I have no doubt that you’ll stop offending.

“That will be good for you, and good for society.”

The cocaine Gibbon was found to be in possession of was ordered to be forfeited and destroyed, meanwhile.
