THIS week The Red in Dyserth has been proudly hosting The Alarm Literary Week, the first of many events.

Alarm frontman Mike Peters is performing every night of the week, including a DJ Set on Friday and culminating in a finale on Saturday night at Dyserth Community Hall, the village where Mike was born and now lives

Alarm fans have flooded in to the village from as far flung as Seattle and Los Angeles to pay homage to Mike and The Alarm.

Mike is reading extracts from his forthcoming autobiography, LOVE, which will be released on November 1.

On Sunday the week began with an exquisite Declaration set. 

Mike was treated to both an opening standing ovation and a closing standing ovation.

Mike has just returned from delivering the opening speech at the World Cancer Congress  in Geneva where he received a standing ovation.

He has just completed five rounds of R-Chop Chemotherapy at The Christie Hospital in Manchester and has continued to tour throughout his treatment .

This week, while Mike performs at The Red, he is travelling back and forth to The Christie for tests to prepare him for a  life-saving stem cell transplant.
