Claire House Children’s Hospice is urging people to donate unwanted items to it charity shop in Prestatyn.

The hospice provides care and support to seriously ill babies, children, and young adults.

Every quality item donated helps the charity raise more money, which is then used to help families at its Wirral hospice, West Derby site, and in the community.

The charity has shared five tips for donating second-hand items to help donors make the most of their contributions.

Firstly, men’s and women’s tops are in demand.

Clean tops, whether casual, dressy, or jumpers, are popular in the shops.

Shoes, boots, and trainers, if in good condition, are also sought after.

Handbags, if they are in good condition with no broken zips or missing straps, can raise significant funds.

Children’s plastic and wooden toys, if they are clean, safe, and in working order, are also welcome.

Finally, the charity encourages donors to consider Gift Aid.

Gift Aid can increase the impact of a donation by 25 per cent, provided the donor is a UK taxpayer.

Donors can ask about signing up for Gift Aid when they drop off their donation bags.
