ABERGELE Town Council’s has started working with QRBoxx to help businesses and community groups in the town show off “everything Abergele”.

QRBoxx is a digital tool that business owners and members of community groups can use to promote its town.

Businesses and community groups will be able to join the online platform, at no cost, and create their individual listing.

They can upload photos, written content, special offers, activities or events, and they can tag themselves according to the specific services and products they offer.

In turn, residents and visitors will have access to this information in “the palm of their hand”, as QRBoxx is both mobile- and PC-friendly.

Members of the public can open QRBoxx from anywhere by scanning the QR codes they will see in the town, or by browser search, without having to sign in, and without third party advertising.

There is also a blog feature, a gallery, links to weather and open consultations, things to see and do, and more, all in one digital space.

Simon Williams, co-founder of QRBoxx, said: “I am pleased to be a part of the rollout of QRBoxx in Abergele, Pensarn, St George, Belgrano, and Bodtegwel.

“It's exciting to see our platform expand across North Wales, helping local businesses connect with their customers more easily.

“QRBoxx is built on the values of simplicity and transparency, ensuring no third-party advertising or hidden data practices.

“It's a platform designed to support communities and help small businesses thrive.

“I look forward to continuing this journey and seeing the positive impact we can make in these towns and beyond!”

Abergele businesses, including those with premises and those that are home-based, are invited to the town hall on September 23 at 6pm, for a preview ahead of the launch.

Owain Colwell, co-founder of QRBoxx, added: “I’m truly excited to begin this journey with Abergele Town Council.

“For me, this partnership aligns perfectly with QRBoxx’s mission to support growing enterprises by creating equal opportunities through innovation and creativity.

“Abergele has unique strengths, and our bilingual, fully accessible platform is designed to elevate local businesses and connect the community.

“I’m confident this project will not only enhance Abergele but also inspire similar efforts across the region, fostering collaboration and growth while staying true to our commitment to inclusivity.”

Following QRBoxx’s successful pilot in Rhyl, the platform has expanded to Prestatyn and Pwlhelli, and will launch in Abergele in early October.
