This month Denbighshire County Council are implementing a new Education Self-Service system.

This new system enables parents and carers to apply for the academic year starting September 2025 for Nursery, Reception, Junior, and Year 7 school places.

To make applications, users will need to set up a secure account and provide information about themselves, their children, and their school selections.

The new approach aims to simplify the application process by providing a central way to view and monitor applications from beginning to end.

Outcome notifications for future applications will also be available on the system.

Specific admission forms will be available from September 2, 2024, for Secondary school places and September 23, 2024, for Junior, Reception, and Nursery school places.

To be considered, applications must be submitted before the closing dates, the latest being February 17, 2025, for Nursery school applications.

Certain age requirements are in place for the respective educational phases.

For example, to apply for a place in Reception in September 2025, the child must be born between September 1, 2020, and August 31, 2021.

Parents and guardians can set up an account through the link: www.denbighshire.gov.uk/education-self-service.

Head of service for education at Denbighshire County Council, Geraint Davies said: "This new online facility will allow parents and carers to access and track their applications from start to finish more easily.

"Having the applications in one place also helps if there are a number of applications pending at one time".

Councillor Diane King, lead member for education, children, and families said: "It is great that we are making our school applications system easier to use and more accessible.

"I’d like to thank all involved for all of their hard work in developing and implementing this new system."
