It has been providing drinks and snacks to the community following a successful campaign to prevent offices for births, deaths and marriages being erected in the botanical gardens, and to prevent the adjacent trees being cut down to make space for a car park.
George Owen, president of the Rhyl South West Central Residents Association, said: “Regrettably, the café is now at risk of closure, and we are appealing to the local community to come forward and help us to continue our valuable service to the community.
“The café is normally open daily, 12-3.30pm, and volunteers work on a rota which is organised by Angie Johnson, the café manager.
“The work is not onerous and includes preparation and service of sandwiches plus tea, coffee and cakes.
“We are a friendly group and new people would be very welcome to join in and enable us to keep operating.
“Please contact Angie Johnson on 07917 004414."
