For the second year in a row staff at Christ the Word school in Rhyl are pleased to see an improvement in performance.
This is despite overall GCSE results, across Wales, being lower than in 2023 when there were additional measures in place.

Bernadette Thomas, acting headteacher, said: "ome of our pupils may not have achieved the top grades but all have worked very hard and it is pleasing to see that most of our learners have secured places in 6th forms, colleges, apprenticeships or have started their working lives.
"This is due to the hard work put in by the pupils with the support of both their families and school staff. Of course, it isn’t just in the last year that this is made possible. It is a culmination of years of work for all involved. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our pupils, families, teachers and support staff for their dedication over the years and to wish our Yr.11 the best in whatever they choose to do next."
Pupils achieving notable performances include: Gabrielle 10 A*, 1b, 1c; Orezi 9 A*, 3 A; Oreva 9A*, 2A, 1b; Joseph 6A* 2A, 2b, 1c and Gracie 5 A*, 4A, 2b.
