A CHARITY football match and fun day will take place this weekend to help fund a Kinmel Bay boy’s “once-in-a-lifetime” expedition to Tanzania.

Rachael Fisk’s 13-year-son, Brodie, is hoping to go on the trip with his school, St Brigid’s in Denbigh, to help build hospitals, schools and water infrastructure.

To raise money to put towards it, a fundraiser day is being held at Y Morfa Leisure Centre, home of Kinmel Bay FC, on Sunday (August 25).

A GoFundMe page has also been set up - www.gofundme.com/f/brodie-go-to-tanzania-on-his-expedition.

Brodie wrote on the GoFundMe page: “I've been given the incredible opportunity to join my school, St Brigid’s, on a four-week expedition to Tanzania in July 2025.

“This expedition is more than just a trip; it's a chance for me to immerse myself in a new culture and make a real difference in rural communities.

“Through Camps International, I'll have the opportunity to live alongside locals, gaining invaluable insights and expanding my worldview.

“On the expedition, I will be working closely with local people to improve the infrastructure of rural villages and make a positive impact to the surrounding environment.

“38 per cent of all funds raised will go directly towards the projects. I will be helping on projects such as building classrooms, providing clean water, or constructing homes for vulnerable families.”

Gates open at 10am for Sunday’s event, which will also feature burger and pizza vans, a bouncy castle, sumo suits, glitter tattoos, candy floss, ice cream, sweet stalls, and more.
