THE OWNERS of two businesses in Rhyl said they were both subject to a number of negative reviews by a customer who had earlier been “shouting abuse” at staff.

Owners of Fullaflavourz takeaway on Vale Road, and Fulla’s Kitchen – Bar and Grill on Wellington Road, said the customer had tried to place a delivery order with Fullaflavourz on Friday (August 16), half an hour after it had closed.

The customer was told this, but then proceeded to leave a number of one-star reviews on Google for both businesses.

One such review claimed that the customer “got (given) some story, which was clearly an excuse”.

Since then, the owners said a number of positive Google and TripAdvisor reviews have been left for both businesses, which they are “beyond grateful” for.

The owners said on Saturday: “A customer called Fullaflavourz trying to place a delivery order, half an hour after we had closed, after their order wasn’t accepted on Uber Eats because our tablets were turned off and the kitchen was shut down for cleaning.

“When told that we were closed, they responded by shouting abuse at our staff, and threatened to flood both businesses with fake negative reviews.

“Incidents like this are incredibly disheartening and can seriously harm a small, family-run business - sometimes it makes you want to give up.

“If you’ve had a positive experience dining with us, we’d appreciate it if you could share it.”

Since then, a number of five-star reviews have been posted, including praising the businesses’ “amazing service” and “lovely food”.

The owners added: “We are beyond grateful for the outpouring of support and the positive reviews on Google and TripAdvisor yesterday.

“The journey in hospitality can be challenging, but your love and encouragement keep us inspired.

“We do our best to bring something special to our local community, and receiving your love in return is everything to us.”

Fulla’s Kitchen opened in May, with both businesses family-run.
